USA Truck: yes or no??

Postby dtrain on Thu Oct 27, 2005 11:18 am

professional drivers; I may have the possibility of going to work for USA Truck. Their talk is what it is as with all companies. Their product is the best as all recruiters say. I would like to know from drivers that either work or worked for USA Truck and those that mey have had some dealings with this company, what your thoughts are? I don;t want to get on the greydog and go to orientation only to be disappointed and take the ride of shame home. As far as trainers, especially bad ones there is a simple solution. It is called a telephone. I think I can deal with alomost anything a company can put there. I don't expect a new or nearly new truck, just one that is decent. I don't expect the best runs, but enough miles to make a living the first year. Any info drivers can give me would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Go safely; see you on the big road!

USA Truck: Yes or No

Postby charliecat30403 on Fri Oct 28, 2005 5:25 am

One of the hardest decisions to make when wanting to become a truck driver is what company to go with. There have been hundreds of comments made as to good and bad on many websites. One company may be the worst to one and the best to the next. Recruiters are there to recruit, of course they are going to talk it up. All you can do is to spend alot of time researching and there are many places to do that on the internet, go to a truck stop and talk to the drivers, you will be amazed at what you can learn at your local truck stop's lunch counter, then follow your gut instinct and go for it. All companies have bad and good, as with anything in life, there isn't a perfect one. Just do your homework, grit your teeth and get the experience.
ask questions.....you are responsible

I was once a new driver. I might have to become one again and take a refresher course to get back out on the road again. As both a former student and trainer at usa truck, usa trucks training programs are second to none.If your able to put up with some manure in the trenches, and hang in there with them for a year or 2,you will be able to drive for most anyone, with the consideration other types of trailers other than dryboxes sometimes need new training also.I left usa in 2000 but for new drivers I still recommend usa truck as a trucking co to start off at.rockhound1972@hotmail.com
